The Harvia Virta 9 kW is a premium electric sauna heater designed for medium-sized sauna rooms from 177 to 494 ft³ (5–14 m³). Built for frequent, extended use, this freestanding heater offers reliable performance, modern design, and exceptional ease of maintenance—ideal for serious sauna users.
With a stone capacity of 110 lb (50 kg), the Virta delivers smooth, even steam and stable heat. Its heating elements are separated from the stones, which greatly extends their lifespan and improves airflow for consistent temperature distribution. For added convenience, a front-mounted maintenance hatch allows quick access to all electrical connections, making servicing straightforward. If a heating element needs replacement, the entire element module can be easily pulled out—no need to remove the stones.
Engineered for quiet operation and fast heat-up, the Harvia Virta combines Finnish craftsmanship with user-friendly practicality. This model requires a Harvia control unit (sold separately), such as Harvia Xenio CX45-U1-U3-XW or the newer Harvia Fenix Smart Wi-Fi Control (FX45-U1-U3-XC). Fenix connects to the MyHarvia 2 app; free Core features include remote monitoring + notifications, and full remote control is available via an optional one-time Control upgrade ($134.99) (no subscription; eligible products include a 3-month trial).
